OSRAM and LEDVANCE: what is the relationship?
LEDVANCE was formed when OSRAM’s general lighting business was separated in 2016. They are distinct companies. LEDVANCE markets certain general lighting products under the OSRAM brand through a trademark licence.
The licence covers defined product categories and territories. Official sources describe general lighting lamps and an extension to luminaires outside mainland China, Hong Kong and Macao. This does not mean that every OSRAM range is offered in Morocco: the local scope presented here remains lamps.
Does an OSRAM specification automatically allow a LEDVANCE proposal?
No. The relationship between the brands does not establish that references are identical or compliant with the project requirements. Retain each product’s exact brand and reference; any substitution must be submitted to the specifier for approval.
What should be provided to the lighting designer, client or project owner?
Provide the specified and proposed references and GTINs, dated or versioned datasheets, photometric data for the exact variant and a comparison against the project requirements: luminous flux, power, optics, colour temperature, colour rendering, dimensions, mounting, protection, controls and compatibility. Identify deviations and request explicit approval.
Does the trademark licence confirm local availability or accreditation?
No. A licence between manufacturers does not confirm stock, lead times, OSRAM accreditation or exclusivity for Potentiel Énergie. References, documentation and local conditions are checked for each enquiry.

Identify the right lamp before ordering
Provide the reference or GTIN, cap, dimensions, luminous flux, colour temperature and quantities. For a replacement, specify the existing ballast, dimming and wiring. The brand alone does not guarantee compatibility.
