Specifier tools / Photometry

IES, LDT and photometry: using the right files.

Understand what photometric files contain and why product variant traceability is essential.

IES and LDT are more than attachments

These files describe the light distribution used by calculation software. An incorrect variant, optic or luminous flux can make a simulation inconsistent with the product ultimately specified.

Associate each file with its reference

The future Potentiel Product Knowledge Graph should link each photometric dataset to a SKU, a manufacturer source, an update date and a precise variant. The aim is to avoid generic files or documents obtained without evidence that they match.

Check before calculating

Before a simulation, check in particular the reference, optics, luminous flux, colour temperature where it affects the variant, control mode and document date. Any difference must be made explicit.
