DIALux workflow: from plans to reports.

Structure a DIALux study without confusing modelling, product selection and project validation.

Objectives

By the end of this lesson.

  • Structure the inputs for a DIALux study before calculating.
  • Review a photometric report by checking the assumptions and product variant.

Prepare the inputs

Before calculating, gather geometry, heights, uses, surfaces, plausible reflectance values, openings, obstacles, brief requirements and reliable photometric files.

Build a useful model

A model must be sufficiently faithful to answer the technical question without becoming unnecessarily complex. Evaluation surfaces and calculation zones must reflect actual uses.

Test several scenarios

Layout, height, optics and luminous flux can be compared. The aim is to verify performance and document assumptions, rather than produce an attractive image.

Review the report critically

Check the assumptions, exact luminaire references, relevant results and any discrepancies. A report is only as reliable as its input data.
