Alternative to XAL in Morocco — technical comparison for professional lighting

XAL presents MOVE IT 25 as a low-voltage track system combining magnetic decorative or linear inserts with several layout geometries. This supports comparison at system level. It does not establish that another manufacturer’s inserts can be fitted to the XAL track.

Preparing the project brief

Provide the layout with corners, curves and level changes, then the references of every insert and power supply. Identify accent and general lighting areas. An alternative must show how it handles joints and visual continuity, and what work is needed if profiles are already integrated into the building.

Can only the total track length be compared?

No. Two layouts of equal length may need different joints, power supplies and inserts. The comparison must use a complete bill of materials and plan, with the designer validating lighting effects and integration.

The criteria we compare

Luminous flux, power, efficacy, colour temperature, colour rendering, optics, beam angle, UGR where relevant, IP/IK, dimensions, mounting, power supply, control protocol, service life, photometry, certifications and documentation are compared criterion by criterion. For a study, the IES/LDT files for the selected reference remain essential.

Equivalent does not mean a copy

A solution proposed as an alternative to a XAL reference may be better on some criteria and different on others. We distinguish mandatory requirements from preferences to avoid false equivalents based solely on watts, lumens or luminaire appearance. Where data is missing or contradictory, the correct conclusion remains “not verified”.

Send the XAL reference, the technical data sheet if you have it, quantities, application and essential constraints.
