Lighting controls & management

Lighting control in Morocco: DALI and VIVARES.

Offices, hotels and professional premises: qualify sensing, dimming and scenes with DALI-2 and LEDVANCE VIVARES, then verify project components and commissioning.

Define the uses before the protocol

For offices, distinguish desks near windows, deeper areas and meeting rooms. In a hotel, separate reception, corridors, reading and evening scenes. Describe manual controls, sensing and the expected unoccupied behaviour; these project choices determine the control zones. A function advertised for one component does not describe how the entire installation operates.

VIVARES DALI: an architecture to document

LEDVANCE presents VIVARES DALI for new or refurbished buildings where additional control wiring can be provided. Its presentation distinguishes the controller, luminaires and input devices, with software commissioning. The VIVARES component overview issued for December 2025 distinguishes manual controls, programmable controllers, sensors and extensions. It identifies their roles; it proves neither local availability nor compatibility of a particular bill of materials.

DALI-2 does not replace system verification

The DALI Alliance describes certification that verifies product test results and aims to support interoperability. For the project, record the exact controller, driver, sensor, coupler and bus power-supply references. Check their functions, versions, wiring and commissioning conditions together. A pushbutton coupler does not replace a controller; a DALI-2 label alone does not automatically validate every requested function.

Dimming, tunable white and connected services

Distinguish brightness dimming from changing colour temperature: requesting tunable white requires checking the entire chain intended for that function. VIVARES documentation also presents connected-service possibilities depending on the architecture. These are not assumed to be enabled, included or necessary for every project; confirm network prerequisites, access, service terms and maintenance scope before selecting them.

Prepare selection and acceptance testing

Include the zone plan, existing references, function list and variant documents. Have the bill of materials validated, then plan scene, sensing and manual-control tests with the operator. Retain the settings and commissioning records. Any savings are calculated from project wattages and schedules; choosing a control system alone guarantees neither a percentage saving nor a comfort outcome.
